are. A barometer is commonly used for weather prediction as high air
pressure in a region indicates fair weather while low pressure makes storms
more likely. Nautical barometers help the captain of the ship track changes in the atmosphere that directly corresponds to possible changes in the weather. The ship's barometer will help the boat owner determine whether or not their may be a light rain shower or a heavy storm because of the change in pressure. They can also tell if the weather is going to continue to be good for a great day out on the water.
